7. The Untersberg

The Untersberg, a peak jutting 1,853m out of the Salzburg basin, offers great views across the region.
Climbing it takes more than two hours and should not be attempted without proper footware, clothing and food and water.
Due to some steep parts, it is not advisable if you have a fear of heights.

During the aerial view of the opening scene, this is the outstanding peak of the Alps. It juts out behind Nonnberg Abbey seen from the old city and certainly is one of the "hills that are alive".
