7. St.Gilgen and Lake Wolfgang
St. Gilgen is situated on another popular lake of the Lake District (Salzkammergut), Lake Wolfgang. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart´s mother, Anna Perl, was born in St. Gilgen and his sister, Nannerl, lived here, which is why a little museum has been set up in the village center. Today St. Gilgen is a popular summer resort, like the other villages on the lake, St Wolfgang and Strobl.
