The Lake District, Salzkammergut, with its natural beauty and exceptional countryside, hosted the Austrian Emperor Franz-Joseph and his family for their summer vacations.

Leaving Salzburg, with a view over the rooftops, you will soon be amazed by the colours of Lake Fuschl, and catch a glimpse of the impressive Castle Fuschl, today a luxury hotel, but previously used as a hunting lodge and where the Prince Archbishops spent many seasons.
In St. Wolfgang there will be time to visit the famous Gothic winged altar by Michael Pacher, and perhaps to stop at the "White Horse Inn" for refreshments. A boat cruise is a relaxing way to enjoy Lake Wolfgang close up (included May 1st till October 26th). St. Gilgen, at the other end of Lake Wolfgang, is where Mozart's mother was born.
Passing Castle Hüttenstein and Lake Krotten, we drive along the shores of Mondsee, Lake Mond. The stunning scenery here will make sure you always treasure Austria in your hearts.
